Good and clean facilities in the room. Staff are friendly, helpful & can speak in English. Close to the Higashi-Shinjuku station and shops/cafe & restaurants. Also within walking distance to Shinjukugyoen.
Lobby too small.

Nice staffs, especially Ms. Jong (Taiwanese) and the other Chinese lady who works in the front office. Both they are helpful. Full equipped and good location, we can cook by ourselves in the studio. It closes to subway station and city centre, but also quiet. It is good to have such a good place to stay with reasonable price.
The bathroom is tiny, but all accommodations in this price with small bathroom.

It's better to describe J residence as a weekly mansion than hotel. It's a kind of budget apartment in a mansion that you use instead of hotel mainly for travel expanses cut in case you stay for an expanded period of time, 3-4 nights or even more. In a weekly mansion you'll have a microwave, fridge and sometimes mini gas stove for self-cooking or warming cooked staff from the convenient store. It's reasonable and as simple accommodation for self-service. Reception personnel is very friendly and helpful if you ask them anything about directions etc. Good English maps and Tokyo guides are available at the desk. 1,5 min walk from the nearest Subway station, next to Shinjuku. Perfect choice is you have any business in this particular area. If not - Shinjuku is pretty dirty district and as for me not the coziest place to feel the flavor of Tokyo.

Staff were helpful and friendly
Only accept payment in cash up front, no credit cards accepted. Rooms are not serviced during the stay. I stayed a week and towel and toiletries had to last the week or there is an extra charge for clean towel and toiletries. Must take garbage down to the bin area.

Good location (2min by walk to Metro, 5min to Kabukicho, 15min to Shinnjuku Railway Station),lots of shops and restaurants nearby, good price value relation, everything you need for cooking is in the apartment, for WLAN in your room you have to ask for an WLAN router (it's free)
small bathroom, a little bit dark & ugly area (close to the red light district), but still safe i think

Location close to subway. Front office person was kind.
The office was opened for limited hours of the day, which can be very difficult for early arrivals and check-outs.

J Residence alloed us very early check-in, which is pretty rare in Tokyo. The staff didn't really speak english but we were understood. The room as big with a smal balcony. The location of this hotel was really nice. It took about 15 minutes to walk to the Shinjuku Station. Close the hotel there was the "red light district" but you could barely notice it, actually I think we found out about it after we left ^^. Very nice sushi places are very close-by same as nearest post office where you can rice cash also with visa electron. Though they don't change cash. We really enjoyed our stay in j Residence Shinjuku, it was definetly worth of our money!

The apartament has a good situation, near Shinjuku and the Kabukicho district. The space is not bad (considering that is Tokyo) and it has a little kitchen and complete bathroom. It has a internet cable lan connection but not wifi. El apartamento está bien situado, cerca de Shinjuku y del barrio de Kabukicho. Es espacio está bastante bien (siempre considerando que es Tokio), tiene una pequeña cocina y un baño completo. Hay conexión a internet por cable pero no tiene wifi.
The personal doesn't speak English, but we could understand with good intention :) El personal no habla inglés, pero con señas y con buena intención te acabas enterando :)

It is actually at the Metro E line and F line (a bit further walk) stop Higashi-Shinjuku (East Shinjuku), 2mins walking from the station A1 exit, in the alley, not that hard to find. Very cosy homey feeling, beds are clean, with microwave, water kettle, small cooking area and basic silverwares.
The bathtub is indeed for tiny bodies, clothset is old and kinda dirty.
